Rajasthan trip

This was my second trip to Rajasthan as a tourist. Rajasthan, being so vast, cannot be completed in one trip. So we break up the visitable parts into sections ... like east, west etc. Then we pick up the places we want to visit in a particular part and plan our route and make bookings likewise.

The fist time we had kept Udaipur,Nathdwara,Chittorgarh, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer on our itnerary. We were met by FIL and MIL at Nathdwara and it was family get together too.
(Post will come up later).

This time we decided on Jaipur ,Ajmer and Ranthambore. And of course the other small places around Jaipur.
It was Diwali and we looked forward to the celebrations in Jaipur.

We made all the necessary bookings in advance ... flights and hotels. Didi gave us a lot of inputs as to which places to visit and where to stay. Accordingly we went ahead.

A few things to keep in mind .....
  • Winter is the best time to visit Rajasthan.
  • Even if the days are hot, nights can be extremely chilly. So carry some light warm clothes.
  • A light jacket and a cap is a must.
  • Get your bookings done before hand ... saves a lot of hassles.
  • Inform the hotels that you would be needing taxis to visit places ... and if possible mention the places you plan to visit. They can give helpful info as to which place to visit first or how long to stay where.
  • Always keep your hotel's phone number with you. That way if you are stuck anywhere they can help.
